Dear Sir:
This letter comes to you seeking your financial backing in order to provide the necessary funds to print 6,000 Chamorro Bibles at the cost of $40,000.00.
About 40% of the 153,000 people living on Guam are Chamorro decent. And they really need the Word of God written in their dialect. There are more Chamorro people living in Saipan, Tinian, and Rota known as the Marianas. All of them are waiting to benefit from the reading of the Word of God in Chamorro in order to strengthen their walk with God.
In Gods own timing, the Four Gospels, the Acts of the Apostles, and the Psalms were translated and printed in 1908. That Chamorro Bible was not only out of print, but was no longer to be found except in one or two Libraries. In 2001, the Computer Class of Guam Adventist Academy under the guidance of Teacher Clarence Thomas and Principal Murray Cooper, took a project to make the Chamorro Bible available via the Internet at http://ChamorroBible.org. Gods timing is for us now to put the Chamorro Bible in print.
Guam Micronesia Mission of Seventh-day Adventist and the Guam Pastors Council do herein make this appeal to you to assist us with your contribution toward this worthy project. Your tax deductible donation in check, cashiers check, and or bank to bank transfer could be made payable to GMM Chamorro Bible Project and sent to 290 Chalan Palayso; Agana Heights, Guam 96910. Your tax deductible receipt will be sent to you immediately.
We can feel the urgency of bringing the Word of God to the Chamorro people by taking part in this worthy project. Your willingness to assist in this project is very much appreciated.
Thank you, I am.
[Signed] Willy Nobuo, President
Guam Micronesia Mission of SDA
